April has a reputation for rain, muddy shoes, and unpredictable days—but we all know what comes next. Those showers are doing important work beneath the surface, setting the stage for the blooms of May.Business works in a similar fashion, even when it feels messy, slow, or inconvenient.
Reminding my clients that growth doesn’t always look pretty in the moment is something I’m reminding myself. 🙌🏽 Behind every smooth system, confident brand, and “overnight success” is a season of testing, tweaking, and patience. The trick is setting expectations and pivoting so the rainy days don’t knock you off course.
Here’s how April showers bringing May flowers can show up in business—and why they matter:
- Messy phases are part of the process 🌧️
Building workflows, refining offers, or cleaning up systems can feel uncomfortable before it feels better. That discomfort is usually a sign you’re improving something that will pay off later.
- Progress often happens quietly 🌱
Not all growth is visible right away. Consistent effort behind the scenes is laying roots, even when results aren’t blooming yet.
- Patience turns effort into results
Expecting instant wins leads to burnout and frustration. Giving ideas time to develop allows your business to grow stronger and more sustainable.
The biggest challenge in business isn’t avoiding the rain—it’s managing expectations while you’re in it. When you understand that every phase has a purpose, it’s easier to stay steady and keep moving forward. Structure, clarity, and smart systems act like your umbrella, helping you navigate change without getting completely soaked. 😉
So, if things feel a little damp right now, don’t panic. April showers mean you’re in a growing season, even if it doesn’t feel like it yet. Stay consistent, keep refining, and trust that the flowers are on their way. 🌸

House Plants: Syngonium Butterfly
I enjoy Spring… but all that pollen! Yeah, it sends me running for cover — literally. So, the next best thing? Indoor green plants. 🌿 I have a few but, there’s one I want to mention.

A couple summers ago, I mentioned my Syngonium Butterfly plant — and this Spring, it deserves 👉🏽“honorable mention” again.
It doesn’t ask for much — just the right amount of water, sunlight, and a little TLC. I’ve had this plant for decades! I’ve trimmed, pruned, and repotted that baby more times than I can remember or count.
It’s traveled with me from MA through a few other states and have taken up residence in VA. Honestly, I thought all that moving would take it out… but nope. It said, “We’re in this for the long haul.” 😄 Talk about a long-term companion!
It’s still here, thriving — with several cuttings sitting in water, growing roots and waiting for their next pot.
Indoor or outdoor plant lover — where do you land?
