Personally, I like the heat–not so much the humidity (even though it’s good for the skin). On that note, here are some ways you can stay cool, collected, and creative in your business as the hot months are rolling in. Whew!

Stay Hydrated, Stay Sharp:
Your brain needs water as much as your plants do, especially when it’s humid! Keep a big bottle of cold water at your desk, and don’t forget to add a splash of lemon or something to give it a refreshing boost. Staying hydrated keeps you energized and helps ward off that sluggish, summer haze. 🥵

Cool Down Your Workspace:
Working in a sauna? No thanks! If there’s no central air, invest in a fan or window unit, draw the curtains during the hottest part of the day, or add a desk-friendly cooling pad. A comfortable workspace means fewer distractions and more room for creativity to flow. 💨 

Adopt a “Siesta” Schedule:
Take a cue from those in warmer climates and adjust your day to work with the heat, not against it. Plan intense tasks for the cooler mornings or evenings, and use the hottest part of the day for lighter, more flexible work. This rhythm boosts productivity without melting your energy reserves.

Simplify and Streamline:
Summer isn’t the season for over-complication. Automate repetitive tasks, declutter your workflow, and focus on the essentials. The less mental heat you create, the more space you’ll have for big, creative ideas. 🧠✨

Apple EarPods or Beats

I have a few earpieces. Not because I need them all, but because they were collected over the years. I use all of them because one works better than the others with certain devices.

The one that works best with my laptop is “Beats.” When I bought it, I wasn’t ready to sell a leg for an Apple earpiece. But now, it seems the prices for both are similar, so I’m getting there.

No, not selling a leg—just getting to the point where I think it’s worth it! 😁 The convenience of earpieces is worth the investment. Look, Ma—no hands!!When driving, you can keep your hands on the wheel while having a semi-private conversation, even with passengers.

So far, I’ve heard nothing but good things about Apple’s AirPods Pro. Beats is great too, so we’ll see. 🧐
